Kuantan is the state capital of Pahang, a state in Peninsular Malaysia. Kuantan serves as the main administrative and commercial center for Pahang. Tourism is one of the major economy activities in Kuantan. Kuantan is also famous for the production of salted fish, keropok and batik, a traditional handicraft locally. Apart from that, timber, ice-cream and fishing industry also contribute to the local economy in Kuantan. Kuantan is well known to the tourists for its waterfalls. Among the waterfalls, the ones that attract more tourists are Sungai Pandan Waterfall, Sungai Berkelah Waterfall and the Jerangkang Waterfall.
